Derek HUDSON. Exode serie

“Immediately following the end of the war in the Gulf, Saddam Hussein’s Republican Guard went on to persecute the Kurdish population in northern Iraq forcing them to flee their homelands. Gathering all the belongings they could carry they fled en masse across the ice covered mountains that separate Iraq from Turkey. Exhausted from the trek on foot many of the thousands died from acute sickness. Those that survived ended up in a barren no man’s land near the town of Isikveren where they camped as best they could while awaiting aid from NGO’s. These photographs depict their plight.”
“Gathering all the belongings they could carry.”
Imagine.
We have so very many things to be thankful for.
